“To a fair fight,” he said with his chin turned up. He nodded at me with a small smile. “It’s a true honour to battle with you.”

I looked over at Lyris. “Why does he get a sword? This hardly seems fair.”

“When you beat him, you can take his sword,” Lyris said.

“That’s one of his powers?”

“Tell me when you’re ready, warrior,” said Rajan.

“Don’t wait for him to tell you!” screeched his keeper. “Just kill him already!”

“Um…” I said. I was trying to think of a way to buy some time. “I just need to tighten my shoes.”

I bent down and began to slowly meddle with my laces. They didn’t really need tied. I peered up and saw that he was waiting for me. I swear I could hear every clock ticking in every nearby apartment.

“Let’s, uh, just try to keep the fight… quiet,” I said. “I don’t want this to turn into another big police ordeal.”

“Enough chatter!” cried the young princess. “Why aren’t you two fighting!?”

I stood up.

“Are you ready, warrior?” asked Rajan.

“Almost,” I said. “Do you…” I thought for a moment. “Have any last words?”

“None,” he said. “I’m ready to fight if you are. Do you have last words?”

His pre-teen keeper groaned and stomped her foot. “This guy is driving me nuts,” she growled.

“Well,” I said. “I, uh, do have a little something prepared, if you don’t mind waiting for a moment…”

“By all means,” said the frighteningly polite Rajan.

So I started ranting about some nonsense—something about my parents, something about my upbringing. Honestly, it was all nonsense, all hooey, all just gibber-jabber to buy myself some time. Then, I remembered that there was a cute little honey waiting for me down the road at that little cafe. I remembered the way she looked in that tight little dress, her perky tits pushing hard into the thin fabric. I suddenly stopped talking as the image of her came into my mind. I could see her now, possibly using my mental powers, sitting in that cafe; it was her reflection as she looked across the cafe at a long panel mirror. She was waiting patiently, smile dwindling as she checked the time on her phone.

“Is that all, warrior?” Rajan asked.

“Just fucking kill him!” screamed the young princess.

And then, Rajan decided to listen to his master, before she decided to take her frustrations out on her champion. He charged towards me. I jumped up, activating my lift powers so soar high enough that he couldn’t swipe me with that blade. I fired a fireball at him as he spun around, and amazingly, he managed to use his blue glowing sword to slice through the flames, dissipating them. He smiled, flashing his pearly teeth. “Wonderful,” he said. “Maybe I’ve finally met a worthy foe.”

I landed, knowing better than to use all of my ‘mana’ up right off the bat. I had no idea how I was going to best this guy. I had to get that sword out of his hands—that was my first goal.
